In case you couldn’t tell by my umpteen “Summer ready…” “Summer holiday…” “Summer absolutely ehhrthing…” focused blog recently, I love summer. The blue skies, the justification for daily frappuccino’s, the general happiness of Londoners (well, happier Londoners) but mostly? Mostly I love summer fashion.
When it comes to dressing for summer however, this doesn’t mean that I go crazy and dress up until my heart’s content. Comfort – and coolness – is key for me in Summer which is why when I was asked if I wanted to get involved in Matalan’s Holiday shop campaign, I totally jumped at the chance as for me, that’s what Matalan do best. Comfy, reliable basics that you can just throw on as they go with everything. (Basically, I’m a lazy
bitch cow girl so thank you for indulging that Matalan) 😉
Here are my Matalan picks – alongside a pair of Jones Bootmakers sandals that have stolen my heart – and what has quickly become my go to Summer/festival style outfit. I really hope you enjoy the outfit as much as I’m enjoying wearing it.
First up we have these stunning shorts* that I have not stopped wearing since I received them. For me, the print reminds me so much of some Isabel Marant pieces I lusted over last season (but for 100th of the price) so I bookmarked these as soon as I saw them. Not only do they look amazing, but they are so comfy. I’ve realised that comfy linen shorts with a nice print are my comfort zone.. with the comfort of pyjamas but potential to be dressed up to look smart with the right shoe, they are easily my Summer style essential.
Next up, we have a bag that has not left my side for the past 2 weeks. (It’s currently out of stock *insert all the cry face emoji’s here* but I’ll link it up once it’s back) Real suede, check. Fringe, check. Basically, when I wear this I feel like I’m at Coachella.
Just without the amazing music, incredible LA sunshine and an abundance of ridiculously stylish celebs and fashion bloggers for company.
[insert FML/”sigh for life” emoji here]
In all seriousness though, this bag is absolutely stunning. The suede is such amazing quality, the bag fits a deceivingly large amount in it without being to big and bulky, it’s just my Summer saviour this year.
Next up, these gorgeous glasses*. A really flattering tortoise shell/pink tinted/ombre coloured pair with a really flattering, rounded square shape. These are my new “thrown on with anything, because they go with everything” glasses that I’m very happy to have in my possession. Plus, they’re £3… total bargain!
