WANDERING VICTORIA

29/01/2016
Ellie Adams
Sometimes in life, I go through stages with my style (and I’m not talking about the denim crop top and flares ala Britney in the 90’s because that wasn’t a stage, that was a f*cking bloomin catastrophe). I’m talking, sometimes I feel a bit girly with a rocky edge – basic bitch way of saying a tea dress with some biker boots – and sometimes I feel a bit more classic and parisian chic – basic bitch way of saying a blazer and breton stripes. And sometimes, I just completely ditch trends and fangirl over colour palettes, and that’s exactly what I did in today’s post (and for around the last 2months…).
Blush pink – and not Barbie pink – is a colour I’ve always loved but for some reason, doesn’t feature so heavily in my wardrobe. I think it’s because my usual suspects (i.e ASOS, Primark, River Island etc.) haven’t seemed to invest in the colour so much but I’m hoping that’s something that’ll change over the next few months as I’ve discovered that blush pink, burgundy – yes I’m still fangirling over burgundy and no I’m not sorry – and neutral tones are my thing.

And when I say my thing, I mean, something that I’ve been enjoying for more than a day #ThickleBloggerSays.
So off to Victoria it was – which by the way, is potentially the most underrated Instagram-worthy area in London – to shoot this look amongst the dreamy, monochrome, pillared houses. And take all of the Instagram shots, obvs…
So, the bag is a little Chloe-esque purchase from none other than the mothership that is Primark. As soon as I saw it with it’s stunning black, burgundy, khaki and cream tones and the (suspiciously) Chloe Marcie-like pattern, I knew it had to be mine.
Those boots, are a permanent feature in my daily wardrobe – as well as my Instagram, Youtube and previous posts – and that’s not due to change any time soon. I am utterly obsessed with the shape, heel height, moc croc pattern and colour of these boots and seriously think they go with absolutely everything. At least, I hope that they do because I wear them with absolutely everything.
Finally I finished off with these beautiful Chlobo rose gold bracelets which featured in my previous post – with a full rambly write up – and they too, haven’t left my body since receiving them either. I adore Rose Gold at the best of times but think that it goes especially well with the warm rose/blush shades.

So that brings me to the end of my Victoria stroll and fangirling over boots, blush, buildings and all things superficial suitably Instagrammable. It was such a nice shoot in the golden hour – that glow though – even if it was freezing (yes I’m talking about the weather again) and my hands turned a not very pinterest worthy shade of blue.

I’d love to know if you’ve seen any amazing blush/burgundy pieces that I obviously “need” in my life. Where is your favourite place to shop right now? I’d love to hear your thoughts 🙂
As always, thanks so much for reading!
xx

I love blush pink and I'm not a pink fan so I'm really feeling this look. Agreed, Victoria is a hidden gem with amazing architecture! Not sure if they still have it but I got a beautiful blouse from h&m in blush pink…would go great with white trousers in the spring! x
