When I was younger, I always wanted to be the person that has used so and so face cream for 10 years, swears by it, wouldn’t ever stray etc. etc. (there’s something about that idea that just feels a little bit chic and sophisticated, right?) but I’ve come to the conclusion that after years of being a total skincare-whore, my best skincare routine is one that consists of switching up numerous products, hence why I’m constantly mentioning different products. But last month, I attended the most incredible blogging event ever for the launch of a brand new range. So, this range came into my life – LOL at the fact that I can make a skincare discovery sound like a 10 year marriage – and has not gone anywhere. No switching up – bar the time when I hadn’t slept all night and needed all the oil and radiance boosting potions I could find – no putting it at the back of my cupboards and forgetting about it for 2 years, a straight up “I’m really looking forward to putting on my moisturiser today” kinda love.*
*I feel like you’re judging me for looking forward to using moisturiser and I can tell you that I ain’t one bit sorry.
Fangirling aside, said product that I’ve now rambled for far too long about is the Clarins Multi-Active range. A day and night cream that dreams are made of, i.e I’m going to rave a hell of a lot, i.e let’s just get on with the review yeah? Okay great, let’s do it…
So, the Multi-active range in general is aimed at us busy ladies that are burning the candles at both ends. Late nights and early (coffee fueled) mornings really take a toll on our skin and the multi-active range is designed to protect against that. With an abundance of plant extracts including myrothamnus which is an african plant that has the ability to survive incredibly dry conditions and Teasel extract which helps to revitalise and protect tired, stressed skin… this Day cream is going to be your crazy hectic schedule self’s best friend.
So now that I’ve copied and pasted got the technical jargon over [insert cry laughter emoji here at me trying to sound intelligent] here’s what I really think. This day cream is absolutely stunning. Not only does it seriously moisturise and hydrate the skin (without leaving it oily at all), but it also makes for the perfect makeup base as it absorbs quickly into a satin/smooth finish. For me, this has become my everyday day cream of choice and my (very nourished and hydrated skin) is extremely happy about it.
When I heard that the night cream helps to target signs of lack of sleep, I was all over this like a blogger on avocado toast. As a long term insomniac – that pretty much looks like death at all times – I am always on the hunt for products that may help me look more awake than I actually feel. Now, I can’t say that I 100% feel like I look less tired after using the night cream, but it does make my skin look and feel so plump, hydrated and beautifully moisturised. It is easily one of my favourite night creams and one that hasn’t left my bedside table since I received it, I just can’t say in all honesty that it’s because of the “reducing signs of no sleep” qualities. Radiance and a huge hit of hydration? Absolutely yes. But making me look like I’ve had 5 extra hours sleep? I think only Harry Potter a miracle could do that.
I have to say that I do kinda hate saying that as it definitely sounds like I’m adding a downer to the product – negative Nancy’s out in full swing – when in actual fact, it is by far one of my most favourite skincare items, just trying to give you all the knowledge I have (which isn’t a lot, but you know, let’s roll with it).
As always, thanks so much for reading!

Beauty Candy Loves
It's so beautiful, couldn't recommend it enough!
xx
I love it when you find skincare that just WORKS for you! It can be hard when the skincare world is like a giant candy store and you're not too sure what the heck makes one cream different from another! I am an ingredients whore when it comes to choosing my skincare, If it doesn't have one of my magic skin hero's in it, then I speed-date to the next 😉

So so true, there's so much to chose from and it's such a minefield, but sticking with favourite ingredients is a good way to go!
xx
I love it and i need it
Linda http://www.missydress.nl
You definitely do 🙂

'like a blogger on avocado toast' LOL – I certainly need that night cream, I constantly look tired! Swooning over all of these photos by the way, you've really done the products justice 🙂 🙂

I do love Clarins products and they definitely put their all into their marketing strategy for this one. This Multi-active event was definitely event goals lol. I must give these products a try.

The packaging is beautiful and it's good to hear that it absorbs so quickly into the skin
Yes, one of my fave traits too!

I read about these last & they went on my wishlist – now that I've read this post, they are at the top of the list!! xx

I am definitely the same with switching up skincare and I also really look forward to trying new products! It's the little things right? These look lovely, I've never actually tried anything from Clarins.
Amy xx Call Me Amy
Totally with you there lovely. Clarins is such a gorgeous brand for skincare, so many products I'd recommend aside from these too!
xx
I watched all the vlogs of this event and even when I'd seen it from just about everybody's perspective and knew exactly what was coming next, I was still watching because it just looked like such an incredible experience! Clarins remains a firm favourite with me and these products look great. I'm also totally in love with the fact that it's a pink pot for day and a blue one for night. I realise that's silly but I can't help it! x
Kate Louise Blogs
Ahh it really really was hun, I can't say enough good things, just perfect! Haha oh I know, I loved the pink and blue theme!
xx
okokok when pay day drops I am getting these. I used to always use my mums Clarins goodies, it is time I actually start taking responsibility for my skin! Also, that event looked incredible! What a bunch of babes. Immy x

xx
Stunning post! The photos are amazing.

Thanks so much Tijana!

I've tried both and they're lovely! The day cream is a little bit on the rich side for me (unless they've changed the formula) so I reserve it for Winter or days when my skin needs a boost of hydration. Nonetheless, love both! x
Renata | Speaking Beauty UK
So pleased you like them both. The Day cream is definitely rich compared to the average but to be honest, with my dehydrated skin, I love it!
xx
I don't think I could use the same products for years, since I love being a blogger and getting to discover different brands all the time :). I do love me a bit of Clarins, haven't tried enough from them but eager to try some more so this duo sound perfect. Beautiful photos as always x
Beauty with charm
Thanks so much lovely, so pleased you liked them!

This range sounds really lovely and I've taken a note of both creams and will definitely try them in the future. x

I've always been a fan of Clarins (their Super Restorative range really helped knock back hormonal spots) so it's fab to finally hear your views!

I seem to be sleeping less so I could use this! The texture looks so creamy and rich. And I love the bottles too! Have you tried their Beauty Balm? It's amazing! Great post Elle!
http://leftbankgirl.blogspot.com
It's so beautiful, I'd highly recommend hun! I've tried the beauty balm only a couple of times, definitely need to try it more!
xx
I have been using the Clarins products for years and they never disappoint.

Totally agree, I've never been disappointed!

These! I will be buying these now I think, I've been looking for some new skincare because I look like crap at the moment so I'm praying for extra help.

Thanks so much Lauren, that really means a lot!

Ain't no shame in being ridiculously-crazy excited for moisturising mate. I just bought the Olay eye-moisturiser and I have no regrets in saying that the thought of swirling those little metal balls around my eyes at night time is the sole reason why I smile most days. #AmenSister.
xx lacoconoire.com
Haha I'm so glad you're with me. You are far too funny, girl!
xx
My skin is very dry so even this creme is still not enough for me
These sound amazing I'll have to give them a try! I use Clinique's moisture surge and I love it, so I'm interested to see what I think of these 🙂 xx
amazing ! 🙂
NEW POST : THE COLORFUL THOUGHTS

Clarins is a great brand, their face creams always impress and I'm a fan of the day cream as it works ever so nicely. I'll have to try the night cream as it sounds lovely!

Nicely documented.
